FREE GUITAR LESSONS

Free Guitar Classes" resume at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Bonita, 3990 Bonita Road, on Thursday, July 22, 2010 for a 6-week session. Beginner's class is at 5:00 pm, followed by the Intermediate class at 5:45 pm.
Students should bring a guitar, preferably a nylon string for beginners. Metal string guitars are okay, too. For those who don't have a guitar, some loaner guitars will be available for use during class.
The class is taught by David Shine, an accomplished player, performer, and teacher. Printed lessons will be provided during class for students to take home and use to practice newly learned skills and techniques. All ages are welcome. This is a great opportunity for adults and children to learn how to play guitar.

A Call for Clothing Donatiions
The Church of the Good Shepherd has partnered with the Community of Change to collect donations of used CLOTHING and SHOES. Even worn out, soiled or stained items are accepted, as the material can be turned into rags for household cleaning items. Community of Change is an organization doing its part to help increase the amount of textiles Americans recycle each year and to get used clothing/shoes into the hands of people who need them. This partnership is committed to making it more convenient for families and communities to participate in reducing items entering landfills. The items donated in the drop bin can be given a second chance and used by less fortunate families here and around the world! THINK GREEN and support Good Shepherd by participating in this valuable community program.
About June 1st, a large collection box will be delivered and will be installed at the entrance to our inner parking lot. Donations will be picked up every day, so the box cannot be over-filled. In addition, it is constructed in such a way as to prohibit other people from reaching the clothing items inside. The church will receive a donation to its general fund every month, depending on the amount of clothing collected, so tell your friends and neighbors about this collection box!
